Stockings

I never danced Latin in stockings. I will need to wear them for coodination with the rest of my costume soon. Is it something that requires gettin-used-to time? Do I need to practice in stockings? Do they feel very different from bare-foot?
Thank you.

(I have not decided what kind of stockings I will wear yet.)

Fishnets don't make a huge difference to me, however regular pantyhose do...too much slippin' and sliding going on. Frankly, I'm starting to think that the whole tanning process has annoyed me into wearing fishnets next time around. Certainly less expensive.

I have only worn fishnets for Latin (but every single time - everyone jiggles in all the wrong places during Jive, no matter how skinny the person is). They do feel different, especially those without the fabric sole... try to find ones with the sole, they work for most people I know. But I alos think that fishnets are more comfortable than regular stockings.
I think if you decide to wear regular stockings, your shoes need to be more narrow than usual, otherwise your feet will slip around too much.

I use capezio now, but only because the store I used to buy regular ones (givenchi) discontinued the color that worked for me. Admittedly, capezio last way longer.

The important thing to check when shopping for fishnets is the lycra content. The higher the percentage of lycra, the longer the fishnets will last.
(Mine are some completely random brand that I found at a local dance supply store. Man are they tough!)

What?
So... do you get the wide-net pornstar kind, or regular Elvira (only flesh toned) kind?

Now I want to dance without slipping, too.

Capezio, with the waistband removed (a huge THANK YOU to Larinda for suggesting that). I think the lycra content is over 50%, compared to 10-15% or so for the "sheer support" pantyhose. _Major_ squeeze factor (meaning even minus the evil waistband, they aren't gonna fall off). Ahhhhh.

capezio for me too
Has anyone ever found fishnets with sole which are closer to being flesh-colored, or close to "suntan" color in pantyhose. I tried to buy some on discountdancesupplies and the only 2 fishnet colors they had were caramel/suntan which is much darker than suntan pantyhose, and black.

Do you remove the waistband to remove the squeeze?
