Summer dancing in Maryland

A dancer from the college ballroom club here will be working at Ft. Meade, MD, this summer. He's looking for advice on where to go for both instructional and social dancing, preferably somewhere with other young people. Is BAM active over the summer? Or is there somewhere else that student dancers go? I don't think he has his housing settled yet, so he could potentially edge toward either Baltimore or DC given a reason for one or the other. Thanks for any info!

BAM is active over the summer, we have summer practice hours though it is ungodly hot in that gym. There are college night socials every 1st and 3rd Saturday at Chevy Chase Ballroom and weekly WCS parties at Cherry Hill. We don't hold classes over the summer though.

I've never taken group classes there, just privates so I can't speak to that.

Lydia Petrigova has a great set of Latin group classes at CCB. Those are the only group classes I've taken there. But I have heard good things about the other instructors as well.

There will also be IDB happening during the week of July 4th which is a full 5 days of socials and workshops given by top professionals and hosted by Championship Dance Camps. I have not been able to afford the workshops end of the deal, but I've heard good things of it and the socials are always a lot of fun.
