Swarovski stones: Jet vs. Jet AB?

I am planning to add some stones to a black dress for a studio showcase. I want to add black stones - does anyone have an opinion on Jet vs Jet AB? I have AB stones (in other colors) on other dresses, and I like the extra sparkle, but I'm not sure if the extra dimension in color would look strange against a black dress. I'm also thinking about sprinking some clear crystal stones in for contrast.

Thanks,
RW

Jet AB throws blue, green, and purple light. So, when you look at the stones, they won't really look black. If you like it (it's a gorgeous effect), then go for it.

If you don't like that, but want more sparkle than just plain Jet (which can come across as looking rather flat), try Jet Hematite. These stones have a slightly greyish-silver cast to them and are more sparkly than plain Jet but don't change colors like Jet AB.

Thanks, Laura. I think I am leaning towards Jet AB. By the way, your advice in earlier threads was really helpful when I was stoning my first dress. :)

I'm currently stoning a dress for my partner. In the past we used Jet, but this time, we're using Jet Hematite. I like the effect much better. Jet Hematite has much more sparkle. Can't say anything about Jet AB though...

Are the AB stones "coated" to get that effect, or are they "made that way"? I know they're man-made anyways, but sometimes you can make stones already chatoyant, and other times, like with the Mystic Fire topaz, you have to put a mineral coating on them.
