Sweet 16

I'm goin to my first Sweet 16 party next Friday. Could someone just tell me what it's like? I've never been to one. Like, are there a lot of events, or is it just basically a dancing party the whole time? Also, it says "dressy but comfortable." I could wear just cargo pants and a collared shirt over a white tee, right?
 
It depends on who's giving the party. I think DP's right. You should probably ask the host what's on the agenda. But your fashion choices sound great to me. 8)

Its sorta like an american coming of age tradition. We have two big ones, 16 and 21. I think sweet sixteens are more prevalent among the upper class society in america. I know for my sixteenth birthday, I was in colorado, where there was no one I knew. I ended up going out to dinner with one random guy I told it was my birthday (april fools day, y'know) and then my dad invited a bunch of random college guys over for cake and icecream. I didnt eat sugar, and they only staye dthe five minutes it took to eat the cake, so overall, it wasnt very special. I know alot of my friends had similar, i not less, eventful sixteenth birthdays.
