The thread about identifying songs got me thinking how many DJs we have on the forum. So what type of swing do you DJ and what is your favorite song to play right now?

I guess I'll start.

I DJ an all style dance, but my favorite swing tunes currently are:
A Smo-O-Oth One by the Swing Cats
Hop, Skip and Jump by Engelbert Wrobel's Swing Society and
Yacht Club Swing by Fats Waller
 
My latest favorite is You got to Swing and Sway by Ida Cox.

Thanks to Mr. Jesse of Yehoodi Radio for that suggestion.
 
Not necessarily my favorite, but Wilson Pickets version of "Mustang Sally" gets EVERYBODY on the floor.
 
strictly blues. i prefer to do a diverse set, so some of my faves would include:

soon as i get paid (keb' mo)
vietnam blues (cassandra wilson)
the long day's night (cut to 3:45) (jimmy mcgriff)
summertime (cut to 4:32) (dr. michael white)
 
I DJ in Toronto, Canada for the Toronto Swing Dance Society from time to time. I love new and nontraditional WCS stuff:

New York by Paloma Faith (England)
The Uncomfortable Truth by Nneka (Nigeria/Germany)
Darmadagin by Serdar Ortaç (Turkey)

SWEET! Never thought of that one.

I'm a 80s gal - any other WCS 80s tunes come to mind? My 80s collection tends to be more ECS/Jive heavy. Bueller? Bueller?

Ive a pretty large collection in the " swing " genre from RandR to Jive.. have some interesting Jive songs which I will have to post for you later..


The ECS genre I have is very large... so I opted for this group in a Jive format( dont let the titles mislead you )..

Don Henley- All She Wants to Do Is Dance
