Tailgate dancing

With the Super Bowl coming up I was just wondering. Has any dancing ever been put on either for just fun or promotion at tailgate parties prior to a game?

A previous studio owner here did so just prior to one of the U of A games about ten years ago in which she gave a class.

Dancing at a tailgate party sounds like a lot of fun! I would definitely start something up at one of those(haven't been to one in YEARS!). Don't forget the cooler filled with beer! 8)

tailgate party? enlighten a non-american plz :)

Before a football game or event of that type, folks come early, set up grills, coolers, lawn chairs or even picnic tables, etc. Result: A big party in the parking lot! It is all part of the game day activity.

I think it's a great idea, and space isn't a problem because you've got room in the parking lot. People can't wear their good dance shoes, but no matter!

Sometimes, not a problem - but a lot of those lots are jammed packed with tailgaters. You'd have to get there good and early and stake out a big area. Even folks who couldn't get tickets to the game will sometimes drive to the party.

To further explain, people drive their big pickup truck (e.g. Toyota HiLux) or sport utility vehicles (e.g. Land Cruiser) to the game. They fold down the rear gate on the vehicle and use it as a shelf/countertop/seat while they party.

We used to do that before the A's games in Oakland! A friend who recently visited New York said they don't even sell beer in the stadiums anymore(that would totally suck) so I guess fans are busy sucking up suds pre-game! Fill me in on that new law if I'm mistaken. Haven't lived in the USA for 20 years now.

For me and the people hang out with, sporting events are synonymous with beer enjoyment. After seeing bloody brawls & rioting instigated by football fans in London in June though, it kinda makes sense that authorities want to conrtol it. Kinda ruins it for those of us who drink in moderation... :x
