What do you think are tango capitals besides BsAs and MV?

Number of dancers could be of interests, number of teachers, famous musicians, milonga density, cultural milestones, ... aso

What is MV, Montevideo? Why is it a tango capital?
Although I would not call them tango capitals, there are large tango communities with lots of teachers, a few regular festivals, several tango bands, and a number of good dancers in Portland, Oregon and San Francisco, California.

Hmm. My experience is pretty limited... but on the east coast, I'd think NYC has quite a bit going on. Maybe Boston too?

The DC area is... weird. Around here, you kind of figure an hour's drive (yes, time, not miles) is a reasonable distance to get to a place. That can include NoVa, Baltimore, DC, parts of MD, etc. If you count the greater area, you have your choice of several milongas every night, and some pretty good teachers.

Has anyone in the USA got the foggiest idea where Totnes is?.
I don't, but then again, I don't know what MV is either.
