Tango Compilation Cd para bailar

I am looking to recommend a tango cd for my beginners students, but I have yet to find one that I like. Any suggestions:

Ideally; instrumental, have examples of Pugliese, Di Sarli, Calo, Canaro, Angelis, NO PIAZZOLLA

I'd just make one with the songs you feel are appropriate. I've done that for people who were looking for some music. You'll likely never find the "correct" assortment otherwise.

Pugliese is positive for beginners

Although, my favorite music is Tanturri and Canaro, I highly recommend Pugliese for beginning students. I know that many think Pugliese is only
for advanced but I am using it because of the definate, driving beat that
seems to be present in every song. I never have any doubt about what is
happening as it is always driving and persistent...also, very beautiful!
The steps will need to be long and strong and why not? Beginners may
find the driving beat a big turn on and get into their own confident assertion in the dance, sooner than otherwise.:bandit:

I think the same comes from Di Sarli ( Gran Muneca fr'instance)

With beginners and Pugliese, it depends a lot on which songs you pick. I'd recommend staying away from the songs that change tempo a lot (like "La Cachila" or "El Andariego"), even though they are great songs. You really have to know those songs to be able to dance effectively to them (especially if you are the leader). Something like "Derecho Viejo" with it's more clear and constant beat would be OK for a beginner though.

My advice is to go with artists like Canaro, Di Sarli, Fresedo, D'Arienzo, Calo, or Donato.
