Tango in Chicago

I'll be going to Chicago this November for a work thing. While I'm there, I'd love to find an opportunity to dance or take a lesson. Does anyone know good teachers in the area, and/or milongas or practicas on Thursday or Friday nights? (Yes, I will do web searches...just wondering if others had personal takes or personal knowledge of what/who is available.)

ETA: I will probably not have a car. I will most probably be staying at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place.

omg...I have competed at a comp there it is less than an hour from me...let me know if you have other free time and it isn't the week of osb

There are things to do every night of the week in my hometown, but unfortunately, the website tangonoticias.com with listings of events, milongas, etc. on a calendar is no longer in operation.

Your location at McCormick Place is far from the nearest downtown activities. I would not recommend renting a car and navigating the highways from there just for tango.

cabs are plentiful for there...also train and bus

Possibly there will be free shuttles either for your event, or run by the city to bring visitors between McCormick place and better-connected tourist spots such as Navy Pier. It's worth calling the concierge at the hotel to check.

I think cabbing it would be a better option, especially since most of the AT places here stay open until the wee hours.

ATI is popular but it's in a warehouse district north of the United Center and you do NOT want to be out there alone late at night - the area's mildly creepy even in daylight IMO.

Friends of mine have opened a very nice tango club but it's way out in West Chicago. Marie makes spectacular food though - served around ten...
