Team Match

I was browsing the site for MAC today and I saw an entry for a team match (link). One line caught my eye:

"The dances will be announced at the Team Match. All couples should be ready to dance whatever dance is announced"

What dances are eligible? The traditional nineteen competitive dances or specialty dances like west coast and hustle? Is there a distinction between international and American style?

The team match is pretty well anything goes. The first round is your average set of dances (unknown until the day of I believe), and then they go into a final featuring all kinds of zany rules. Last year each dance in the final featured a handkerchief in some way. Blindfolded quickstep, back-to-back tango, and no-body-contact cha cha were three of the dances I seem to recall. The year before there was a whole-grouop merengue and reverse line of dance/various tempo viennese waltz. It's not serious, but I believe I remember a trophy being involved. It's a lot of fun and they call for registration a little bit before the end of the afternoon session... again, very informal.

If you can, I highly recommend participating regardless of your level. It's a ton of fun!
