Hello! Maybe my please sounds strange, but i would like to know something about the skill levels, the categories in which dancers perform in comp.. I'm from Russia.. and i found out(reading some posts here, on forum) that our dancing systems are quite different from each other.. For example, in our country the experience of the dancer estimated in his class: from "E" (the lowest) to "M".. also there are 8 age groups: from Children (0, 1, 2) to Seniors. Probably you also have the similar struct.. but can you explain me what means "bronze", "pre-bronze", etc.?.. also i'd like to know what is "Smooth" )

Thank you!

ps. Sorry for my english)I know it isn't good:)

welcome to Df...there are other people on this forum who can do a much better job of speaking to this than myself...the levels about which you are curious vary somewhat depending upon whether you are talking about amatuer couple or pro/am...also what kind of organization is hosting the competition or the nature of the studio on attends ....bronze, etc are levels...smooth is a relative of standard but the couples need not remain in closed hold...again, I am sure that others will chime in with a more articulate and detaild description

Pre-bronze is usually just the first few steps from Bronze really. Bronze, Silver and Gold are like Associate, Licentiate and Fellow. The age categories can vary a little depending on the competition or organization, but generally you can look at the entry forms for this.
