Let's just say that fishnets against bare lady parts can be... uncomfortable. So yes. Regular pantyhose - no.

When I do rhythm/Latin, it's undies, fishnets, shorts, dress including the body suit. No shorts= very unhappy inner legs. Latin crosses or really any time your thighs come together and move opposite directions, those fishnets rub on the in between bit of skin. Hello, rug burn, basically. Ouch.

I wear hose under the fishnets. Overkill? perhaps, but I have fat legs so I need the hose to keep the flesh from poofing. Therefore, the thigh rubbing isn't too bad.

Thanks everyone! And SORRY to all the mods for the live links -- newbie mistake but lesson learned!

I've gotten a few ideas from everyone. I need to expand my wardrobe choices from "thinning black" cause of course that was what I was attracted too. But I'm branching out

THANKS EVERYONE for the advice about fishnets! I NEVER would have put it all together so I did get black dance shorts to put under my skirt to avoid scaring anybody during my turns.

This is a 2-part question...

I went looking for a choker yesterday to add some blinginess to my dress and hit all the major stores - Macy's, JC Penneys, Claire's, Icing, etc. and not one had a single choker...

So it got me thinking...are chokers (like rhinestone, or iridescent) out of style and/or are they considered tacky (at least on the ballroom floor)?

I've looked for pictures of dancers to see if I see chokers out there but didn't run into a lot...and the stores that sell them (like a 3 or 4-row rhinestone choker) seem to have pictures of younger girls...

It's hard to find anything that would be considered tacky in ballroom. The bigger the better, usually. For cheap rhinestone jewelry, try pageant-type sites. Danceshopper . com also has a lot of really great jewelry, but it's pricier.

Yes @middy simple 3 or 4 row chokers...preferably gunmetal or iridescent since bright white is not the most flattering on me...
