The eternal LBD

I know, we're in the middle of a heatwave, when I go clothes shopping I should be looking for pretty summery practical things.

So why is it I keep buying little black dresses?

I've picked up two in the sales. One is knee length, sleeveless, ruched bust, quite saucy. The other is a more flowing grecian style that requires a plunge bra, it has a draped neckline which shows a lot of cleavage.

What is it that is so wonderful about sexy, simple black dresses. Why can I not get enough of them? I have half a wardrobe full already!

The Little Black Dress truly is a miracle worker. I have a bunch of them, too! One time I want dance dress shopping for a special event, and bought three -3!- black dresses! They still serve me well. One is bias cut, with little thingies at the shoulders, which are so flattering for the More Woman, if you know what I mean, ladies. :wink:

More is better, IMO. I read it. My fifty-something sisters read it. My sixteen year old niece reads it. My twenty-seven year old niece reads it. There's something good there for women of all ages. 8)

Hmm... Stores will be closing soon and we have an out-of-town guest we're hosting until Monday. Guess I'll have to wait until Tuesday night. Or maybe, I'll wait till next weekend when my mom comes to visit and we'll just go together. Pick one up for her, pick on up for me. :wink:

Hmmm. I haven't bought one in a long time, now that ya mention it. I've been wearing nothing but pants so far this year with some cute, new tops. Have to have a look at th' boutiques when I'm stateside in September. 8)

I only have one LBD, but it's dangerous enough I only pull it out for extra special occasions
Plus I have resolved to wear other pretty colors (like bright jamaican green, gold colors and whites) that glow on my skin boy i love my brown skin (india arie )
