The Shopping / Buying Thread !!!

A couple of college T-shirts from the student store last evening. On sale for $10 each for "school spirit", and the proceeds going to a charity...

As do I...there's a brand only made in South Australia called Farmers Union Iced Coffee. The BEST Iced Coffee ever.

Thanks, fasc.

This year is a reboot/restart for me and DS. New stockings and stocking holders all around. Making them might be a nice change. There's a store around here, somewhere, that does Christmas staring in July. Hmm.

My kid is such a traditionalist. When I was throwing away the last of his Easter candy (two weeks ago,) I broachad the subject of discontinuing the Easter basket traditional.  "The heck you say, Mom!" was written all over his face. I have a feeling that I'll be Santa in his life 'til long after he's Santa to kids of his own. And he hasn't believed in Santa since he was six (I never taught him Santa. He just absorbed it from TV and friends.)

The boy likes tradition, especially if it involves gifts and lots of food. Treasure hunts and surprises are an added bomus. :-)

hobby lobby has stocking kits...walmart has even been known to carry them...but hobby lobby currently has a very nice selection...as to the easter issue...my children will expect easter baskets until I am dead....my mother insisted upon it ...she made my brother and I sit on santas lap into my college years for a photo.....and I have the stocking she made with her own hands over 40 years ago...I am so glad....

I have found, particularly in the presence of upheaval or disruption, that people cling to that which is time -honored...I see it in my kids, my brother, and myself
