The Ten Most Beautiful Women of All Time

Pygmalion: Great question! Probably need to at least be recognizable. :)

Yes. That's the thing. I bet some of the truly beautiful people in this world are working at the local Walmart, totally untouched by fame. :?

Of course! And some of the women called beautiful, look quite ordinary when caught unaware and of their makeup.

But if we're going to pick out the most beautiful women in the world, we need to pick someone we can all relate too.

Btw: whatshername above is Gisele Bundchen. Cameron and Gisele, that's two women I'd like spending and afternoon with, trying to teach them how to dance.

Sophia Loren (one of my all time favorites) REALLY should have been on that list. Even in her old age, she's gorgeous and still has that whole aura of sex kitten about her. The best part, I think she's a beautiful face AND a great actress.

Ingrid Bergman--another must have in my book. Gorgeous, sophisticated and classy.

AND...both Audrey and Katherine Hepburn.

In the hoofers category...I thought Ann Miller was absolutely gorgeous. She died a year or so ago and like Loren was still beautiful in her old age.

Despite her present condition...Elizabeth Taylor was SO beautiful. She was called the most beautiful woman in the world...for forever.

Funny all the women I admire and think the most beautiful and sophisticated are mostly brunettes.

For modern beauties...the only ones that carry even a semblance of old Hollywood glamour (a lost art) would be Gwyneth Paltrow, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Nicole Kidman. I'm an old movie lover and nobody has that type of glamour seen in the 30's-50's any longer. It is a shame really.

Okay. I'll start. Do the men in question have to be famous men, or just men? Hmmmm.

Harrison Ford. My first vote (of many  )

1. Harrison Ford
2. Sean Connery (in older years, not younger :D )

(Guys, you can nominate too :D )

My male nominations would include...(in no particular order)

1. Sir Anthony Hopkins
2. Sean Connery
3. Paul Newman
4. Robert Redford
5. Clark Gable
6. Audey Murphy
7. Errol Flynn
8. Marlon Brando--he may look horrible now, but my god...he was gorgeous when he was young.

Present awesome men...
9. Johnny Depp...AND a fabulous actor, I appreciate how much he gets into his roles and the care he takes choosing roles.
10. Edward Norton...another great actor.

i'm gonna add some =)

1. Shane West
2. Brad Pitt
3. Orlando Bloom
4. Paul Walker
5. Johnny Depp

still thinking... lol

Wait, wait, wait! Somebody start a new thread on the top ten guys, gals. No hijack this one.

Pymalion: Can this stuff be transferred to a different thread?

TemptressToo: Glad you mentioned Gwennyth Paltrow and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Good picks! Perhaps you might even make the list!

TemptressToo: Putting Audey Murphy on the list has intrigued me. How did you find this choice? Most folks wouldn't know who he is.

(Crud...this really should be a seperate thread, but I'm making it worse.)

I'm an old movie buff. Audie Murphy was the most decorated soldier of (I believe) WWII. After returning to the U.S....be became an actor. I thought he was a very good-looking man. Perhaps not the best actor, but as I have known about him for ages (from the time I first saw him in a movie at about age 12). I've always had one of those crushes you get over movie stars. He had such a great face and all American good looks.

I imagined if anyone knew who he was...it might surprise some that a girl of my age and "caliber" would know who he was.

I was just about to start the ten best guys thread when it occurred to me that I have no idea how to phrase it. Ten most beautiful men? Most handsome men? Most attractive men? Sexiest men? Classically good-looking men? Hmm. Still pondering ...

TemptressToo: Not only did you know he was in old movies, you knew about his World War II honors as well. Oustanding!

That puts you further up towards my top ten list already. ;)

There are some very nice photos of him online, if you do a google image search. 8)
