The "Wing-Top"

Here's one to puzzle out... what are the fundamental differences between a wing and the "big top" ? This was prompted by a bit of "oops, shouldn't really have done that" collision avoidance in a syllabus comp... it wasn't quite a big top, but it wasn't exactly a wing either.
 
I have actually given this a bit of thought recently as we have a big top in our new tango - I think the difference is a bit of rise through the rotation in the wing (a little more swoop) and the big top is a flatter rotation.

Agreed, I heard it described as similar thing like a spin turn but on the other leg... for the lady....
