Open latin hair problem: I have a bob hair cut that is ok when I am still but flies in my face when I dance. Unfortunately, hair is longer near the face than nape of neck. Can't go shorter because of hair texture and obviously can't go long. At a comp, I do like the movement so don't want plastered hair. I have experiemented with wearing a hard head band in lessons, which looks great and is functional., but sometimes it gets knocked off in the craziness. Does anyone have ideas for how to deal with this? Pin or even glue hard band? Don't have a clue how to do this. Get a thin hairband and stone it for comp? I wonder if a vendor at a the comp might have an idea but I hate to leave it til the last minute. Do you think a vendor might he able to glue a head band in place. Worst case scenario is I spray it and pray. I need to experiment and go back to my stylist, who is new because my regular person suddenly had to move away. Thanks!

I have the same situation, same hair, both in ballroom and in figure skating. When I want my hair to swirl loosely, I use a thin soft ribbon headband with sparkles, not a hard band, and pin it in several places with bobby pins crossed in an X. I turn the pins wrong-side up so the longer flatter "arm" is upper and alternate Xs so some have the open ends of the pins pointing towards my face and some to the back. It's less likely that way to get caught on and knocked askew by something passing over my head (I'm small, so lots of things brush the top or sides of my head during a dance.) Works for me.

Buy some hair extension clips off amazon (they have "teeth") and attach these to a sparkly elastic band. And hairspray the part where band is on hair

"half up half down"...take the front section and divide into sections with vertical parts. twist or braid (grabbing pieces as you go so it is like a tiny French braid/corn row) then secure with tiny rubberbands made for braces. A vendor could do this pretty easily. gel or spray to keep flyaways down. Maybe add stones at each rubberband.

Thanks! What a great idea!
