Try someone else!!!
Don't hesitate, not even for a moment. The idea of being "true to your dance teacher" is nuts - you want to learn, not commit to supporting someone's business goals. Seattle has plenty of salsa teachers - try out two or three; find someone who really helps you along. Of course you need to give a teacher a chance; you might not be able to tell from one lesson - but then again you might. Once you've started making progress again, you might even find that your original teacher suddenly has lots more to offer .
