To jig or not to jig?

Hi, I'm a Highland dancer, I've been one since I was 8. I have a dilemma, and I would really appreciate any advice anyone could give.
I grew up in a small town, and my highland dance class consisted of myself and two other girls in my age group, two older girls, and two younger ones. We danced together for 9 years, but my dance teacher retired the year I would have done my teacher's exam. I figured I'd take a break anyway since I was in grade 12 and had to concentrate on school. Three years later I'm in a capital city at uni, and I haven't danced since then. I really want to get my teachers qualifications, but I'm out of shape, and also I'm very intimidated by the extremely large classes at the dance schools here.

Welcome to the forums! I vote that you get back into it, or at least give it a shot. It's never too late to start (or pick back up). If you don't, you'll have the "what if?" factor potentially nagging you.

Does anyone else on the forums do highland?

I will get back into it, definitely. But it's going to be so different....that scares me a little. I mean, going from a 7 person class to a 15-25 person class...:-|

I don't do highland, but my friends who do would say "What? Of course you should start again!" Apparently it's just as addictive as other dance forms appear to be.
