Well, after my first few clicks I figured out that by proijecting the quarter turn to the right you can see what is likely to start several chains, but after the first few "chains" it still seems like luck to me...

maybe starting somewhere near the centre so the chain don't die off so quickly??

2091 ... it's fun to watch the chain react ... also, I agree that starting away from the edges might be more helpful, but sure does seem like there's a lot of luck involved ... fun game though.
