I think one of the points people were trying to make is that even though the students are footing the bill, it really does not seem like the event is catered to them, but as stated earlier, not that hard to understand since the organizers consider the Pros their customers not the students. It is not the students who pay the organizers, it is the Pro.I thought you didn't like people making up facts. Sometimes I just have better things to do than argue with EVERY single point one makes. Especially when I don't really care how people spend their money. Mostly I just find it annoying when people who are at an event catering entirely to them are so selfish that they can't handle the few moments that are not all about them. You're lucky enough to live in a country where despite your inability to find a dance partner, you can pay someone to be your dance partner. You're lucky enough to have the money to do so. Yet OH MY GOODNESS there's an expectation that you spend a few minutes clapping for "the help."
As to the expectation of clapping; I refer to my comment that this is one of the only industries where they would dare to hand out bonus checks in front of the customers. There is a reason companies do not do this, a lesson ballroom comp organizers could learn from.
It is funny, you seem to have plenty of time to spout off but when asked specifically about your spouts, you can't answer.
At this point, respond, don't respond, matters not - you win, Your last sentence says a lot about you and I choose not to waste anymore time with the banter.
