How many hours..
When dancing took possession of me, it took me 24 hours a day. Its not only the actual practice time on the floor, your life is changing. You start hearing music differently, you look for appropriate cloths and shoes, you seek for an appropriate compensatory gymnastic. You try to get informed about the scene and potential teachers. You deal with contacts and potential dance partners, and so on. All this is dancing, too. The pure run time on the floor shouldn´t be that high in the beginning. One or two lessons a week. The nerve fibers in the brain must be rearranged, and that takes some time. And welcome to DF, butterflyangel!

I don't have time for dance lessons nor do I have any material to learn from. I only have a radio but I'm hoping one day those dance classes will be avaiable to me one day. So basically what I'm saying is, how long should you dance in you room wotj the radio on if you want to dance? I Can't have any lessons which stinks really bad. I need some lessons bad, but there aren't any classes near by. so what do you do if you want to dance?

If you are truly out of options, but have access to YouTube, there are plenty of instructional videos for all different sorts of dance. Can't vouch for the quality of any of them, of course.

Only radio, but no internet and no classes. That really is hard.
I don´t dare to ask if you got a cell phone with video camera by chance?

Over the time you need input, so dancing alone will be not the solution. Hundred years ago they had books. But I fear these books also are hard to find nowadays.

Yes, but more recent ones should be readily available. Searching for "social dance instruction" on Google Books pulls up the following as the top results:

Cal Pozo. Let's Dance: The Complete Book and DVD of Ballroom Dance Instruction (2007)
Judy Patterson Wright. Social Dance: Steps to Success (2003)
Keyna Paul. Dance Manual: The Complete Step-by-Step Guide to Dance (2016)
Jeff Allen. The Complete Idiot's Guide to Ballroom Dancing (2002)
Shawn & Joanna Trautman. Picture Yourself Dancing: Step by Step Instruction for Ballroom, Latin, Country, and More (2006)

Amazon has used copies of that last title (though almost certainly missing the accompanying DVD) for six bucks, and several listings of new copies for ten times that amount. Let's Dance is shown for five bucks used and 75 new.
