Trading Spouses? Anyone?

Has anyone seen this new "Reality TV" on Fox and if so, what did you think?

Would you be up for a challenge like this?

Would you participate if it were "Trading Partners"?

How would you handle a situation like that (trading SO or partner for one you know nothing about)?

We had it here in the UK and there were some near bustups between the couple committed couples and their families  From recollection, the last one also had a lot of unpleasantness - I read in the online newspapers :?

Would I do it? :nope: Not for all the tea in China (or all the salsa shoes in the world  ) I don't care for Reality TV and what it is becoming. :?

Nope. Not for me. Is there a "give away partner to unknown stranger" reality show? If so, I'd be glad to give my former SO away ... to the wolves, if necessary.

What did the wolves ever done to you to deserve such fate? :P

I wouldn't like to be traded like that, or trade my spouse :? And I wouldn't want my private life to be displayed on national television. i don't even understand what would be nice about the idea, it's the formula for disaster, to drop two different SO's off in a unknown family.

I'd rather live with wolves ;)

I saw last week's episode.......... i thought they really set it up for disaster.

First spouse
White
big house / financially well off

vs

Second spouse
Black
small house / not as well off financially.

So, what did you expect ? Of course, Fox wanted to stir with a show like that.

I liked the point about the other family deciding how they are going to spend the money. Now, that is the interesting twist.

Whatever. If "Temptation Island" didn't work...

The setting for this show had better be in a very nice beach locale. Apparently, "Temptation Igloo" is not a ratings-killer.

Man I'm glad I don't watch TV. Now, if there was a show to pair up single men and women...wait...Chuck Woolery had that years ago...ack...ugh...ok I'm shutting up now! ;)

I am glad I do not watch TV either...
What is wrong with these people??? I mean, can't they find other ways to spice up their lives...?
Join the Army, the NSA, the CIA... The Foreign Legion! Go to the jungle! To the desert... Any more suggestions...?

I like the Foreign Legion option ;) Other suggestions? Take a trip around the world, go row to the other side of the atlantic ocean.. Give to charity, polish your shoe's, invent the ultimate antidote against mosquitos.. Get a life and if all else fails, donate money to Pache..or give Pache a daily backrub ;) It may not make you happy, but Pache does get happy :P

I did another thread but deleted it when I found this one. The show that's on tonight is hilarious! One traded wife is trying Yoga. It's a part of the family ritual everyday. Well the new wife spent the whole time saying four letter words. Hilarious! The other wife is trying to teach the family she's with and nobody gets up before 8:30am let alone exercise. Too Funny. I guess it's funny to me because I just finished my Yoga session. Anyone else watching this? Ugh! This lady (with the Yoga family) is awful. :? Okay, time to fix dinner.....

I'd rather go dancing! Although after you fix dinner. ;)

Me too. That show was aggravating me. Changed the channel. :? Do you like steamed salmon? Yummy. :) Those families on this show could have used a good dinner. Too much silliness. :?

Oooh! I love steamed salmon! Sheesh ... I really should make a trip to FL for a visit! ;)

There's one thing that ruins every possiby interesting reality TV show: The compulsory camera-in-the-face-talk-about-how-you-feel scenes. If these shows could focus on the exeperiences, the fun and the challenges, rather than on the conflicts all the time, then I might watch one or two shows.

But as it is, even the shows based on outdoor challenges and stuff like that, are ruined by these stupid 'intimate moments'.

Yep. The first season of The Real World (last time I followed a reality show) didn't have that. It was a season two brainstorm. Gets on my nerves. :x
