UK Tango weekenders in 2011?

Hi Dave,

Greetings from snowy Devon.

Some of the Bramshaw weekends you've got listed as being a "Super Tangk" are billed on Steve & Debbie's website as "Super Tangk Prep" (which I guess is the new name for the old plain & simple "Tangk"). For example, the September Ines & Constantin event.

In addition to the February dates, the legendary Tango Mango will be held near Totnes on 9-16 April and 4-14 August. There's normally one in October as well but the dates aren't published yet.

Fernando Guidi is running "Tango Feasts" on 11-13 March, 10-12 June & 16-18 September. Hopefully he'll do another Christmas Feast in December as well but no dates for that yet.

Take care - see you soon.

Jon

Oh right - I didn't realise. I thought there were a lot of Super Tangks in that list... OK, thanks, I've changed the entries.

Cool, those are added too.

And those :)

Well I'll be at Rockbottoms...?

I've added the Easter and September events for 2011, I'll make a note to myself to update it with the Yuletango details early next year. Hmmm, actually I may pop along there this year...

Do you have more details for Andreas' thing? I can't see any information on his site...

More details? Ahh, c'mmon, it's Tango..., it's more than 24hrs away....

and Detlef & Melina and Marek & Olivera are participating, so what's not to like? T xx

Blimey, just coz Andreas is disorganised, doesn't mean everyone is. I mean, I know he lives in the Hippy Capital Of The World, but Ruth manages to schedule things in.

David you have a date, you know where it is and you know who the teachers are, what more do you need. For Tango organisers to give you that information 6 months in advance is almost a miracle. This is their first event and to get a website up and running is far more time consuming than adding details to an already existing site.

DB regarding events

On 28-30 January Jenny and Ricardo will be teaching at a weekender near Cambridge.

On 12-13 February Alexandra and Stefano will be teaching at Tango Bootcamp in Brighton
http://www.tangobootcamp.co.uk/

and on the same date there will be a Claudia Jakobsen weekend run by Ben and Katya. There is no further information on this.

Regarding El Corte teachers. I understand that Stefan and Komala will be visiting Oxford and Cheshire during the year but dates are not yet fixed and Eric will be coming to London on the 16 January and 13 February and visiting Cambridge on 17 January and 14 February.

Are you not listing the outdoor Milongas on 10 July and 14 August.

DB don't you think you should not be broadening your horizons a bit by now and start including some of the more popular European Milongas?

Indeed. Not wishing to be UKcentric at all, but it's as much as I can do do drive an hour down the road for a milonga, let alone get on an aeroplane for one.

Good list, though, thank you. This alone will probably increase my likelihood of attending a new tango event by several hundred percent.

Mind you, as they (nearly) used to say, 100% of BA is ........

Oh Tricia!!

You know how organised Melina is.
Her and Detlef are booked up for all of 2011.

Not only that, it's not 24 hours notice, you have to decide within 24 hours
of bookings to one of their workshops being announced.

Firstly it gives DB more work to do.

Also I am finding more people are travelling to Europe and finding that it does expand on their Tango experience. People going Holland and Germany are finding that their tango is being improved by the experience.

Because of this improvement people here in the UK have noticed this and that gives them a desire to go and maybe to be more adventurous. There are also many people that have a wish to go to Tango places in Europe but do not have the knowledge to decide on places.

DB's website I have found has been a wealth of information and my first recommended site for people who want to know what is going on in London especially and the UK to a certain extent. I think this increase in information would be a logical expansion of the information given on his site.
