I just wanted to let you all know that the Princeton University and University of Pennsylvania teams are joining up to host

The 1st Annual Clover Star Classic
April 30th, 2006
Dillon Gymnasium at Princeton University

Registration is now open at ballroomregistrar.com/register/CloverStarClassic06/.

Our MC will John DePalma (from the Ohio Star Ball, among many others!), and our judging panel is Jennifer McCalla, Stanley McCalla, Iveta Lukosiute, Gherman Mustuk, Marianne Nicole, Paul Holmes, Inna Ivanenko, Sergei Trubin, and Pete Taylor.

There will be cash prizes for top pre-champ/champ dancers.

And don't forget to join us at Princeton's annual Clover Ball the evening before the competition, and enjoy a performance by World 10-dance finalists Gherman Mustuk and Iveta Lukosiute!

Princeton's an easy train ride from New York, so I hope many of you will be able to make it. And feel free to ask me any questions, give any suggestions, voice any concerns, etc. etc.

I wish I could go; my sis is at UPenn med school (not for much longer, she's graduating :) ), but I've already committed to scrutineering Berkeley's event.... At least I'll finally get to see a west coast comp, though :)

Glad to hear some people are coming!

Chris, we do have (limited) housing in dorms, so just let me know if you're planning to stay the night (which I assume you are if you're coming from Massachusetts). There are also some cheapish motels around, which we'd recommend for bigger teams.

And by the way (especially for Katarzyna) the schedule currently posted on our website is wrong, and the open events are actually all going to be Sunday evening, around 6. It's our spring break right now, but it'll be updated as soon as I can get hold of our webmaster.

That makes it more possible.. maybe I can talk Alex into it.

Anna,

This week is our spring break, so no idea who from UMass may be interested. Once we get back to school next week we'll talk and figure it out. I'm pretty sure that at least my partner and I are going though.

It's our spring break too (that's why I got on to DF, although I should be writing papers...). So far no one's requested housing so you probably have some time to figure it out.

We're allowing costumes bronze and up, so you'll wear your tailsuit, right?

The tails are possible, I don't currently have a shirt to wear with it yet, just have the jacket/pants. Will work on the shirt/tie/accessories when I get my tax returns in. I'm hoping to have the whole thing ready within a few weeks so we'll see what happens :)

~Chris

Didn't quite notice that, for some reason I was under an impression that Princeton had a competition in prior years...
