WCS dancing this weekend and next week in the Bay Area?

My husband and I are going to San Jose/SF Bay area this Friday, 8/11 until next Friday, 8/18. While this weekend I in particular will be busy competing at the US Ballroom Nationals, both of us would love to find some info on where to go WCS dancing next week (or this Sunday night the 13th also would work). We'll be staying in SF next week Monday through Friday (and in SJ 8/11-8/14) and may or may not have a car at our disposal...

My husband, a WCS fanatic, pretends that he's only going to watch me compete in CA so he can experience some WCS dancing the west coast. Hence this question is mostly for him - wouldn't want to dissapoint him:)

Try to see if you can find a web site for Next Generation Swing (I think that's what it is called), they're a bunch of Westies who have parties at different locations all around the SF Bay area.

So are any of the places listed on this calendar for the week in question reasonably easily accessible without a car if we don't happen to have access to one?

The only dance studio that I can think of near public transit is Starlight Dance club. Their Thursday, Friday, Saturday schedules do have some WCS. Steppin' Out is a couple of miles away from there, but is more WCS oriented.

The Santa Clara Light Rail (vta.org) has a stop in front (tasman)

I think the Metronome in S.F. is accessible by BART and then by bus. I have never been there though.

Oops!, I just noticed that Cubberley Pavilion has a WCS event tonight (8/11/06) with Michelle Kincaid. Cubberley is in Palo Alto, on Middlefield Rd.

Post on there with a simple question of where to dance and ask if anyone would be able to pick you up since you won't have a car. As previously mentioned you will need a car as most places to dance WCS are not actually in SF. (A friend moved there recently and has to hunt up rides to get her out of the city in order to dance WCS).

It's a general dance group, but it's dominated by WCS dancers in California.
Sending a letter TNGSC is your other best bet.
Michelle's event would be a good one.
