What do you dance to this song?

Typical type of song that a latin radio station plays down here:

le que paso paso, by Daddy Yankee.

What do you dance to this?

The music genre is called Reggaeton. It's a mxture of latin and hip hop music and has become mighty popular lately. It's danced like grinding, only with a latin feel to it and is not as vulgar as grinding can be. There's no step. For more info, :google:.
And I really, really don't think you could do a bachata to reggaeton even if you tried. The feeling is so different.

My teacher, a wild reggae/soul girl, has strictly forbidden me to. I think it's important to dance to the music's style. I could chacha to a rumba, but I'm not getting the entirety of chacha's flirty, playful feeling out of it.

Very true. However, when you're out and looking to have some goofy fun, but don't feel like doing the rump shake/grind to reggaeton music, what does it hurt? I've done hustle to merengue (hustle is psychotically fast when danced to "Suavemente") and salsa to hip hop (Kanye West's "Golddigger") ....even tango to the B-52's "Love Shack" all in the name of silly fun. Hence the  at the end of my post mentioning samba.

EDIT: Actually, on a semi-related note, I was watching "That 70's Show" the other day and it was an early episode where the gang were going to a nearby town for a night of dancing at a disco. The first scene at the disco has them all sitting around a table and Fez asks Hyde "So, when do they start playing the disco music?" Hyde answers with "That's what they're playing right now." Fez responds with "This isn't disco! This is samba!" ...it was a very amusing episode in general. Definitely worth watching if you happen to catch it.

Was it samba, though? :D
Not really, though you could have worked a samba to it...sorta, but man was it hilarious. If I remember correctly, the song was "More Than a Woman" by the Bee Gees.

Pointless post, don't was your time reading this one. Apparently I need 15 posts to be able to post in the salsa section, where I really want to reply to a good thread.
