I bought a beautiful pair of tango shoes from Tango Goods (who were alive and well on Ebay last night) which sadly did not fit, even nearly.
I think Miguel is wrong to imply that shoes are made specifically to fit your personal measurements. My experience is that he ignores the measurements and just picks the nearest stock size to yours. He does not even roughly check the dimensions of the shoe with the foot measurements provided.
I would never use his firm again as I would not trust him to supply a suitable shoe size. The only way I would consider spending my hard-earned on a mail order shoe is if each shoe was labelled with actual width/ girth/ length dimensions. However, people with feet that match the Argentinian average might do well.
Admittedly, my feet are wider than average but not out of the ordinary. I'd like to hear how Bastet has got on with buying shoes in view of

My experience of Tango Goods was absolutely appalling. Sizing wrong, communications to that end poor. What is the point of drawing round your feet and making extensive queries re correct sizing if they send you a shoe that's clearly the wrong size. They made them in the wrong heel height and tried to persuade me to have them but I wanted the shorter heel I had ordered so had to wait an extra long time (took rather long time anyway). I ordered my partner some shoes which were supposed to come with padding in the insock and they didn't. His shoes were nice and he's pleased with them but he has to put a shoe liner in there, which is not good considering they weren't cheap. I had to sell my shoes onto a third party as he would not accept that the mistake was on his part, or, at least admit miscommunication and offer some kind of compromise. It was his attitude which was the biggest turn-off. Didn't even try and return the men's shoes as it was one big hassle from start to finish.
If you mean Felinashoes.com, my experience was very good. I ended up returning a pair (b/c I didn't realise they had suede soles) from the UK with no probs at all, fast communication and refund.

I don’t get it? First you pity the poor guy for getting a lousy customer satisfaction score then half of you complain about poor service wrong size slow shipping??????
Why would anyone order shoes by mail and expect anything but problems?

I'm assuming the people pitying him were lucky enough to have good experiences with him.....
Where I live there are only ballroom soft soled shoes or those 'character' shoes (like a hard soled mary jane shoe)... the latter absolutely crippled me no matter what brand or size and I don't like the soft soled shoes. I took a chance with ordering by mail my very first pair of tango shoes and had a good experience.

During the Festival Buenos Aires Tango and Campeonato Mundial de Tango this month, Harrods department store on Florida is one-stop shopping for tango shoes. Taconeando, Gretaflora, Dar Cos, Tango Leike, and other stores have rented space in Harrods hoping to sell to the dancing public.
This was pretty much my experience of Tango Goods - when the shoes arrived they were beautiful but completely the wrong size, as would have been realised instantly if Miguel has compared the size of my foot with the shoe he was planning to send me. He insisted on a no-returns policy for this particular pair of shoes which makes me think he knew they were unlikely to fit, but he still sold them to me.
I also think it is misleading to ask for measurements and give the impression that the shoes will be custom-made to your foot - I think the shoes are mostly sold off the peg to the general size you ask for, which is why people complain they get the wrong heel height, or sole type, as he just sends what he has available.
It is such a shame - if he was meticulously honest about the exact dimensions of the shoe you were planning to buy it would be possible to make a sensible decision about whether it was likely to fit. The shoes are lovely, and well-priced. But I guess that is too labour intensive.
I think his shoes are most likely to fit people with narrow feet for their size - wide feet? Forget it.

I've never had a problem with zappos.com, as they have free shipping & free returns on their purchases. Unfortunately, they do not carry much in the way of tango shoes.
Hence my interest in them.. He has some styles that I just love for a basic black shoe and the price is within my budget for an all purpose shoe.
But if its going to be a big mess, then its not worth it. Isn't he just a clearing house for a variety of manufacturers? I wish I could find the 2 styles I like directly.
