A bit of Pink Floyd trivia: Paul McCartney almost wound up on Dark Side of the Moon! While PF was recording that album at Abbey Road Studios, Wings was in another room working on (I think it was) Red Rose Speedway. PF's drummer Nick Mason was going around the Abbey Road complex with a portable recorder, taping the spoken words that you hear in the background throughout DSoTM. He'd stop anyone he could catch, shove a mic in their face, and ask them "say the first thing that comes into your mind about the moon". Paul and Linda McCartney were among the people he taped. But they wound up not using those.
