What's in your flowerpot?

Seeing as the 'What's in your backyard' thread is having its second (or is it thid?) childhood, and with it being 'officially' spring, if you have flowerpots/flowerbeds, what have you, the SO, the children, the cat (!) or the birds planted?

If you haven't got flowerpots/flowerbeds, feel free to make it up ;)

tulips...

Yes, mega pretty! Just a shame they ONLY last about seven days as cut flowers. I want them to last forever, and ever ... and ever

flowerpot on kitchen counter has forced-bulb amaryllis, the 2nd one of the season, grown by BF... this one is white w/ orange stripes.

No flower pots....I have an extremely good record of killing every plant that comes through my door. I always feel sorry for the poor plants that are given to me as gifts, their days are numbered.

Likewise. The only plant we haven't killed is a philodendron, which seems to thrive on neglect. We just put it somewhere high up (away from cats), and try to remember to water it when it starts dropping brown leaves. We've had it for 6 years now, and it's getting out of control.

What is getting out of control? The dropping of brown leaves... or the plant is growing and 'getting out of control'? ;)

The plant growing out of control. lol.

It stops dropping brown leaves when we water it.

But after 6 years the tendrils are getting so long, and unruly, and unmanageable. We're going to have to cut it back soon. Problem is, it's in the absolutely perfect spot...and we don't have another perfect spot for the cuttings. Maybe I'll just give the cuttings to my mom or something...

! I know!

Re what to do with the cuttings... how about giving them as presents, that you 'made' or in this case 'grew' yourself ;)

If that is not a good idea  maybe giving the cuttings in a nice pot, to an old people's home or hospital, if they are allowed to have them?
