What's the Open Amateur Turnout at American Star Ball

Thinking of going to this one, but I've never been and I can't see how many people were in Open Amateur Latin and Standard, because they don't use O2CM.

Can anyone give me an approximation?

It's a smaller comp compared to other ones in the area in the Open Amateur categories. In Professional categories it's very small. It's generally a larger pro-am competition... but keep in mind that Atlantic City hotels are grossly overpriced for what you get even if it is before Memorial Day (before the beach officially "opens").

Did some digging on the website and random clicking around the comp manager site -- last year, Amateur Latin came out of a 16-couple quarter, and Amateur Standard was a 3-couple final.

Caw....you could have done that yourself you owe dlliba10 a coke!!!

I have no idea how to do this. All I can do is look up the results of each couple, on the results page of the website. At that rate I estimate it would take about 74 years 3 months 9 days and 14 hours 5 minutes and 12.7 seconds to figure it out.

How do you do it?

I tend to look up comps on dancesportinfonet. Go into "search/competitions, click on the country and town fields, then when the comp pops up, click on the category you are looking for. It seems to work well, most times. It may not be entirely useful in your case though, as it only tells you how many couples in the final, not say, in the quarter final.

I use it to see how close I get to the final result when I watch a semi/final and pick my fav couple in order. Only works when the couples are introduced though as the back numbers are not listed:(

Ah, I'll probably try the dancesportinfo method in the future, as I am not the best with names.

Thanks

Dancecomp Manager or something like that?

Don't know how comprehensive it is - I've only skimmed it a couple of times.
