Where is Genya?

Ok I am a big fan of Genya Mazo and Maria Shibalova but I havent been seeing them in any recent comps? Anyone know of an upcoming comp they might be at? They kick butt and would love to see them. The last time I saw them was about one year or... no two years ago at California Open but thats it. If anyone knows please let me know! Thanks

Well, I'd assume they'll be at USA Dance Nationals in San Jose in a couple of weeks... ;)
 
Yes, Eugene & Maria will be dancing at the USA Dance Nationals on Friday, August 11th, in San Jose.

I don't know what is going on with Genya & Maria, they are not entered into Nationals. I don't think they've competed in quite a long time. I saw him spectating at a local competition the other night, so I know he's still around, but not what he's up to.
 
I saw his brother Alec at the Southwest Regionals but no Genya. I am so upset because I would really like to see them compete again. Oh well! I was hoping to go see Maria and Eugene because I would absolutely die if I were to meet them but I saw that a train ride to San Jose is $56 ONE WAY and I would have to leave at 5am to get there around 4pm. That is too much for me. Especially since I have a little one. So far no one at my studio is goiong either. Can you fly to San Jose for about the same price but less time? Because with the entrance plus a ticket to the comp and back home (and thats without sleeping in thos two days) its pretty pricey (especially since I dont have much money).
 
I had to look up something on Southwest anyway, so I looked up Orange County to San Jose for you. $79 each way, but it only takes 1 hour, 10 mins. So more expensive, but a BIG time savings.

Tell me about it! What a difference! Thanks for looking that up for me. Hopefully I can come up with the funds before the comp! If not, anyone who's going, please take some good pics and pass them on!
 
Wait a minute, I just thought of something!

Why don't you go to Embassy Ball? Isn't that right near you? I'm 99.9% sure that Eugene and Maria will compete at that.
 
No way! They're going to be there! I'm not sure if they either weren't there last year or I didnt go because I just had my son. OMG if I see them I will flip! I totally want Maria to sign my latin shoes so they can be my lucky pair!
 
Are you sure they are going to be there? They haven't posted the list of competitors to the web site yet.
