where to get open choreography?

Is it bad to lift (intl latin) choreography (like say 10 second bits) from videos I see on youtube? What's the general attitude in the ballroom world?

Over here it happens all the time. Choreography on videos can give you ideas that you can use and/or modify into your own routines. No-one in Aust has a problem with it. Hope that helps.

Not foregoing plagerism or copyright infringements, a dance coach once told me that there is no new choreography, just innovative, and sometimes *******ing, revisits and revisions of everything that has already been done...somewhere...somehow.

To not confuse anyone, angel here said "refres hing" but the site blocks the word "r e f r e s h". :-)

Perhaps the real concern should be if you can dance it well. If not, then don't - and especially don't do it if those who inspired it might be judging your performance!

And if it turns out to be a signature bit of the couple you saw performing it, maybe that's not such a good idea either.

That's why we try to take out the natural turn in waltz... or any feet closing figures. :)
