I found a salsa website for Iceland recently! What prompted me to find it? Well.............. there is a low cost airline that was doing something like £5 single fare plus taxes, London to Iceland  The only difficulty was, you had to fly between now and I think mid February. Can anyone say SNOW!

Can anyone say, no sun. At all. Dark 24 hours a day.

OK, around 1pm you can almost see it on the horizon.

I was in Iceland during the summer for 2 weeks. It was fabulous.

I only heard stories about what it is like in the winter. Apparently it is very depressing and there is a very high suicide rate. Also, as cold as it was in Iceland with 24 hours of sunlight, I cannot imagine what it would be like in the winter.

Yes, you do not need the sun to dance, but depression can be brutal.

diputs, I know what you are saying - I do catch the occassional travel programme/read the occassional article, also, when an airline is offering you £5 single far plus taxes, the cynic in me "knows". You think they would be offering me the same fare in the summer?

All that said, Iceland is definately a place to visit. Just maybe not in the winter. The trip from the airport to reykavik (sp?) is like being on the moon. It is an absolutely beautiful place. Very "real" Not sure what that means. There is a magic to that place.

I am trying to remember if I have any pictures from Iceland. It was before digital cameras, so I would need to scan them.

london, paris, and more US cities (DC, Boston, Chi town)

already planning some congresses, as long as work permits

Oh, yes please! Also, the midsummer lights (argh! don't remember the name ... Aurealia thingybooby?) are beautiful I understand. So, am thinking of it. Knowing that there is salsa there also helps ;)

Not mine, just an example from iceland.

I think it is spelled aurora borealis, but I am not sure.

I'd love to do London again soon - to me it was salsa heaven.
Others high on the wish list: Cuba, PR, Mexico, Senegal...

Oh, so Houston's not good enough for you anymore??? :p .......;)

Seriously, though, I would really like to dance Salsa in Los Angeles, New York City, Puerto Rico, and/or Cali (Colombia). I've also heard that the Salsa scene is surprisingly good in parts of Italy and Germany....

Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic. And a latin club in my area which is rumoured to be the best floor in town, so I definitely have to go there.
