Good question, Peaches. I attempted (maybe not too well) to list ones that I thought had a balance between acting and other attributes. I am a fan of Heather Graham, for instance, who has a wonderful je ne sais quoi about her--as well as those charming Irish eyes of hers. But I left her off, as well as Kate Hudson and Kate Bosworth.

One of the most noteworthy on the list is Naomi Watts, who really only hit her stride after age 30--with Mulholland Drive. In Hollywood, she is considered one of the best "investments" a movie producer can make: Her movies make a lot of movie in relation to how much she gets paid.

In contrast, Nicole Kidman (Naomi Watts' best friend), has a much lower ratio of how much she is paid and how much her movies earn!

I only recognized the names of 3 of the actresses on your list, and I don't think *any* of them can act. I am now feeling old and cranky.

Don't tend to watch many new films, but I did like Jessica Bohl in 'You are Alone'.

Speaking of newer actresses, Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning--who co-starred in Twilight: New Moon--are co-starring in the upcoming movie The Runaways, about Joan Jett and her 80's band.

Observers say that Dakota Fanning is making a fairly seamless transition from her child star roles to grown-up ones. Recall that these roles as a little girl include Charlotte's Web, Man on Fire, Dreamer, and War of the Worlds (as Tom Cruise's daughter).

Contrast her with the numerous child stars that have had bumpy transitions, such as Lindsey Lohan and Haley Joel Osment (of The Sixth Sense).

I dunno I didn't get very far in the first one. I got to the scene where Edward tells Bella he's a vampire. It was bad.

Kristen Stewart was great in The Cake-eaters. Cute movie.
