I love it and fortunately, we get all the big name troupes even in remote Okayama prefecture. heard the Leningrad Ballet will perforn Swan Lajke here soon. Been going to the ballet(although I don't dance it) since I was in junior high. Mom used to take me to see the Nutcracker performed by the San Francisco Ballet every year! I just loved it! The last ballet I saw was the Trocadero de Monte Carlo(men's dance troupe!) perform Swan Lake. Boy, was that hilarious, but those guys can DANCE! (Tutus & chest hair!)

I love it too. Too bad I'm hopelessly ignorant about it, once you get beyond the ballets everybody's heard of. Ballet is on my list of personal growth/cultural enrichment things to do soon. It hasn't been easy living in Orlando, which has a small ballet company, but doesn't attract the major troupes often. And, to add insult to injury, the ballet company here is forced to do popular works most of the time in order to sell tickets and pay the bills. AND the lost a lot of shoes and costumes in the hurricanes this past summer.

Anyway. I digress. Yes, count me in. Anybdy know anything about Dallas, or even Texas (I can drive. ) Any decent ballet companies out there?

I love Ballet. I have a few ballet tapes for exercise and stretching but that's about it when it comes to my exposure. I must say Ballet dancers have some of the most beautiful and athletic bodies. Being a ballet dancer requires great discipline. :) I need to see more actual live productions. :?

Even though it may be one of the most popular ballets, The Nutcracker is my all time favorite ballet!!

Balletblueyes, I LOVE ballet. I'm obsessed. I started taking adult classes and boy has it changed me. My body is stronger and I've got so much more of an appreciation of the form.

I've got more stamina and sweat more after my one-hour adults' class than after several hours of ballroom. I wish I'd done it when I was little, but now that it's touched me, there ain't no going back!!! :)

Popular isn't bad. I hope I didn't come acress that way. Like operas (I think) the really popular ballets are popular for a reason -- because they're good. It's just that I'm ready to get exposed to something beneath the surface. 8)

That's cool!

I love watching ballet. I am seeing American Ballet Theatre this weekend. It's great being in New York where you can see some great companies perform frequently.

Oh. Go ahead. Rub it in.  Big cities are the best places to be, I think, when it comes to cultural things. Wish I was there. :?
