why does my group dance instructor have to be this way?

my latin ballroom group dance instructor (he's the owner and operator) found out i'm taking private dance class with someone else and he has been on my case ever since. now whenever i see him he's been giving me weird looks, emailing me telling me he's really good at it this and that and i should take private with him. telling me what i learned at my private class is wrong, and etc. oh my gosh it's getting ridiculous, to a point where i don't want to go to his classes anymore.

i didn't take private with him because he's not a good teacher at all. doesn't he know his behaviour is driving business AWAY from him? i guess he doesn't realize this. now i rather pay 6 times more for private than taking cheap group classes with him. sorry, rant over.

Not an uncommon rant, unfortunately. The problem... everyone will tell us, but no one will say to the offender/s what you have posted in the quote.

Not necessary to say it out of anger. Say it calmly and out of concern; if not for him...for you.

the classes are prepaid and non refundable. i still take it for the social aspect. i have to admit, ever since i started taking private i have been gradually losing interest in group classes. yeah i won't be going back there. that guy is just too weird. it boggles my mind how he claims to have 15-20 years of experience and would still act this way.

It would be funny if it weren't so sad and somewhat common... Have your private teacher talk to the owner if it makes you that uncomfortable.

Think about what the benefits of keep taking group classes vesus qutting. Sometimes money is not everything.

As soon as you're done with the prepaid lessons (no refund, I assume), split. He sounds insecure and overbearing.

I forget who said it, but I once heard a great comment that went something like " 1 year of experience, repeated 15 times... "
