Woman have come a long way

I just watched Mona Lisa Smile starring Julia Roberts, Julia Stiles and Kirsten Dunst. The movie, set in the early 50s, revolves around a teacher's (Roberts) trials at an all-girls college which is really more of a finishing school designed to ready young woman for marriage.

I left the film feeling very proud and fortunate of the opportunities we as woman get to partake in today. During the time of the film woman were expected to marry, be the perfect wife, raise the children, have dinner ready on the table for the husband...continuing education was pretty much unheard of and a working female was just wrong.

I couldn't imagine living in a time like that...a time of dependence. I guess I just really value my independence and self-support.

It's really good...made me think a lot. I went to see it all by my lonesome since the sweety was a work and my friends were all MIA.

Seeing a movie by yourself is way underrated. It's fun...except after the movie I usually like to analyze it and discuss with someone. When you catch a flick solo, there's no one to discusses it with.

Well, enjoy it when you go see it!

there's nothing wrong with going to movies by yourself... when you need to treat yourself it doesn't need to coordinate with someone elses' schedule.
