Indoor or outdoor? Or do you like both?WATERPARK!
One of my top 5 joys in life, frankly it might be surpassing dance at this point.
Ask questions, meet dancers, and be part of the conversation.

I asked a friend how his weekend was. "Sports coma," a term of art I had not known. Not justdh who also is happy to retreat into a soccer game...go horizontal and wait for NSAIDS to kick in...
Happy Belated Birthday.Yesterday:
Trip to Newark Airport first thing in the morning; if you believe in the "eat a live frog first thing in the morning and it's the worst thing that will happen all day" theory of life, yeah, nope
One of the worst dance days of the past 5 years; lesson not good, and group class actively terrible; at one point, I lost my temper and went to sit down for rest of the class; was convinced I know nothing and am The Worst Dancer in the World and should just quit; have not felt like this in ages
Spoke to a friend who is an accountant/actuary, and talked briefly about the statement I got from my financial planner; friend could not keep himself from recommending investments in which I have zero interest (pun sort of intended) and, astonishingly, demonstrated that he had not heard a word I'd said other than dollar figures... grump grump
To top it all off, was my birthday, it's a zero year and a big one, and by end of day I was all "it's all downhill from here" grumpy
Did *not* soothe my jangled nerves with alcohol; maybe that would have helped

To me, waterparks mean chafing from wearing bathing suits for too long, gross bodies of standing water populated by way too many people, tripping over loud children and wondering if they just peed into the aforementioned gross bodies of standing water, wincing at crying babies, sunscreen finding its way into my eyes & burning for hours, standing in long lines to go down slides or get on rides that are way too high for my comfort, sunburn despite the aforementioned sunscreen problem, hiking to and from the car carrying totebags with towels & sunscreen & waterproof phone pouches, ohmygosh I could go on but you get the idea.
However, on really hot days, it does feel nice to walk under the big sprinkler things that spray cool water all over you.
P.S. Anyone who uses the word “aforementioned” twice in one paragraph is probably a lawyer.

I tried to work it in and failed, so clearly not qualified to be a lawyer.P.S. Anyone who uses the word “aforementioned” twice in one paragraph is probably a lawyer.
My mind is about as boggled as I've ever known it to be. Do you mean people actually take their phones into the swimming pool with them? I mean..........seriously?! Please tell me it's because there are no safe lockers there to stow valuables? That I could understand, sort of. Although I'd wonder why they didn't just leave the phone at home.In the water, I was mostly focused on the other people with waterproof phone pouches to see if we had the same brand and if theirs seemed to be working.

How do you and your daughter keep in touch with each other and with friends? Do you and she both have landlines? Rely mostly on email? other? My mind is about as boggled as I've ever known it to be. I guess I dropped in from a different century on a faraway planet. I've never even owned a mobile phone. My daughter moved to a part of Scotland where connection is virtually non-existent, and gave up owning a mobile phone. And doesn't miss it. We don't at all criticize people who carry one everywhere, we just find that seeming need to be grafted to one baffling.![]()
I can see that when there's no choice for communication. We have landlines, and where I live in a Canadian city there are still pay phones around when I'm away from home, although I understand they've gone extinct in the US. My daughter lives near a city, Inverness, it's just something about the topography of the Highlands in Scotland that interferes with cell phone transmissions. She has satellite transmission, and we use email all the time, being in time zones 8 hours apart. She has in-laws living on a remote croft at the very top of Scotland and they communicate by short-wave radio. How do you and your daughter keep in touch with each other and with friends? Do you and she both have landlines? Rely mostly on email? other?
True copper phone landlines are becoming a thing of the past in the USA as far as I know (I'll lose access to one next year). And my previous experience with home based alternatives was that they were not dependable. Maybe that's changed or I had bad luck.
Anyway, I don't think I am a cell phone addict (I don't scroll FB, instagram, tik tok, etc, for example), but it is the main way anyone I know can reach me by voice or text. And I check email there too. So it comes with me most everywhere. I am not sure what I'd do at a water park or beach - probably leave it in my car or hotel room if it was going to be secure there. I don't need to have it on me all the time, but on the other hand it is not an inexpensive object to replace, and sometimes the most secure place to have it (where it won't get stolen) is right there with me.
Sorry...just did a zero year..similar outcome...hugYesterday:
