Yoga/Pilates/Exercises specific to posture and core strength

I know there are a bunch of threads about yoga and pilates floating around, some of which I read. Heck, until a few days ago I had never even heard of pilates. I'm a little overwhelmed by the info I found though.

Here's what I need. Me and my instructor spend lots of time on posture and balance. After reading threads about yoga and pilates I got pretty excited about that. I also learnt that there are many forms of yoga etc. What should kind of yoga/pilates should I be looking for to improve balance and posture?

No doubt my instructor will be able to answer this, I'd rather hear what other people have to say first.

If you looking to improve balance an posture, any yoga or pilates class will help. They might differe if you have some very specific objectives, but I am pretty sure any class will help with what you're looking for :D
 
I agree with this--any class will build core strength and balance.

If possible, go to a class with a certified Yoga/Pilates instructor who specializes in that exercise, rather than a general fitness instructor. Also, look for small classes, or private lessons to supplement group lessons if possible.
