Seen Any Good Movies Lately?

I wouldn't necessarily call this a good movie, but I finally watched all of Training Day (the movie where Denzel W play a corrupt police officer) early this AM.

What the heck was all the controversy about? So Denzel won an Oscar for playing a bad guy. Big deal. But dangit. He played a bad guy better than I've ever seen him play a good guy. It's been almost a decade since this movie came out, so I can't remember enough of his competition that year to know if he "deserved" the Oscar. But his performance was great.

What were people complaining about?

Whatever...

Last night, I saw Dinner for Schmucks at the cinema. Maybe not among the funniest nor the best of Steve Carrell's movies. But it has many funny moments. Steve just knows how to make you crack up. And so does Zach Galifianakis (from The Hangover last year), who plays Steve's character's co-worker at the IRS. Yes, the IRS...

Isn't Paul Rudd in that movie? I absolutely love him. He's a really down-to-earth, comedic actor who's not afraid to do silly. Love him.

tanya_the_dancer, it is definitely a grand cinematic experience. I'd see it at the theater...
Seconded!!! Definitely see it in the theatre. I think it loses something if it were to be seen on the small screen.

Caught Iron Man 2 again yesterday at a 2nd run theatre where they serve food and alcohol. Love those places. My friends and my gf hadn't seen it yet so it made for a good experience. Really looking forward to Thor and Captain America next year!

thirded.... the cgi and other effects are too good for a small screen..

Yes, see Inception in the theater. I wouldn't go as far as IMAX or 3-D but the effects and action on a big screen are pretty awesome.
