I think it's the inverse, calling it bachata sensual acknowledges its origins I don't think how tango is danced today has much in common with how it was danced in the 30s and 40s either

Shows are much better in terms of exposure tbh. And I would much rather have stage-influenced dancing (Minus lifts for safety reasons) in socials than mundial-salon. But there don't seem to be many shows outside Buenos Aires currently.

It's not age related but rather to do with whether the milonga is formal or relaxed. I mostly preferred relaxed milongas, where I was invited verbally by older women as well as younger ones - I didn't initiate any verbal invitations myself
