I never understood this rule. Why don't they just dance the heat twice (ie - the pro dances it twice but the students dance it once) and have it judged as if it was one? That seems like a win/win/win. The students could dance the multis they want and the teacher and organizers would all get more entries.(We can't clone the pro so another student is doing the multis.)
Is this not done just because the judges need to see all the couples on the floor at the same time?
