A new mission...impossible???

This mission is not one for the weak of salsa heart....I just experienced this, and for those bold enough to try it here it is:

Go out salsa dancing, do those first "warm up" dances to start to feel it, have fun, but right before you hit that "all right I've got at least some of that salsa addiction fix"---Leave!! AHHH!! :)

I had to leave about halfway through my normal time spent salsa dancing last night....  Wasnt pretty.....

Good luck on this one!! And no cheating, otherwise, mission not accomplished....

can I just say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED and move on to the next one :D :D yeh, it happened to me Thursday night. Was dancing and getting into the grove of things when all of a sudden WHAM! I got this sudden urge to leave (weird I know and totally NOT like me  )......didn't want to but I did...doubt that will ever happen again   but it was weird :?

Sure, sometimes circumstances will force you to leave early, but why on earth would you do that voluntarily???????? Really, WHY??????????? Are you insane????? Oh ... oke, i'll try that, just stay calm, and don't worry, those guys with the white jacket are cool, nothing to worry about, just keep calm, easy does it.

<a short struggle ensues>

<tasek watches as salsaonone is carted of to the looney bin> ;)

Voluntarily leave early, please...

Hei! This is rigged from the start!

The purpouse of the missions (I suppose) would be to make you evolve, put you to the test, but always with an "educational" objective in mind...

What would be the purpose of this mission (for non masoquistical salseros/as)???!!!

Are you kidding? What kind of sick maniac are you? I have no intention of leaving my tango party until I have danced with every available man, danced until my feet burn and my hips ache, danced until my mind is numb, unitl I've "had the cigarette," and I'm falling asleep in my partners arms.

What you are proposing has all the charm of coitus interruptus.

although... if you did this on a regular basis just think of how intense the time that you are there would have to be to get the same fix!

you'd have to cram 4 hrs of dancing pleasure into 2 (for example).

Dance Concentrate... now only if we could freeze it and sell it in cans.

Exactly...as the song goes "You don't know what you've got till its gone"...Im not saying to do this all the time...but for those who can, it shows alot about how addicted we really are...For those who are close to burn out...this is also a good idea....and for those who just can't handle it, we won't look down at you..  ....I suppose the restriction is suppose to show you to what degree this dance thing has you hooked..you may dance all night and not know how badly you need it...this will help show....Besides in most other religions they have certain restrictions placed on themselves to show unity....This is just the religion of Salsa Dance....

How about,"I have to get up/be at work/walk the dog (whatever) ridiculously early, but I don't want to skip dancing all together... so two hours are better than none?"

You people are nuts!! Crazy, I tell you.  But I can relate. I can't tell you how many times I went dancing promising myself (or someone else) I'd leave early. Then I got there, started dancing, and ended up being the last one standing.

I am not going to torture myself in order to prove to myself that I'm not addicted to tango. I already know how deep my physical and pschological need for tango is. I am worse than an addict. I am a convert. I become absolutely psychotic without it. I can no more go without my tango than a Christian monk can go without mass, prayers, or novenas. To attempt to do so would be to invite madness.

tacad is right -- this is "dance fasting." Like the Buddha, I do not believe that asceticism will lead to enlightenment. It certainly doesn't make me happy.
