Hmmm ... seems like this T.V. series might be on it's last legs. The show has been relegated to Monday's at 10pm now. I wonder if this will be the last one?

Anyway, two weeks have gone by with this one now.

The first week, the new guy, Travis, is a doctor form Tennessee. Had to pick 12 ladies form the first 25 on the first show. Since it was only an hour long, it just didn't seem to show enough to make things really interesting and have the audience get to know these folks at all.

Travis had to give out one "1st Impression Rose" before the "rose ceremony", and he gave it to the only woman who has been a "contestant" not from the U.S., but from Canada instead. Sarah B struck me as being a fair 1st impression, but not a good one. Travis then proceeded to pick ladies to give roses across a wide spectrum of ditzes to more intelligent.

2nd week added some drama, but the show had to do this or else no one would likely watch.

(Except you, DP ...) Yeah, yeah.

Anyway, Travis decided to not give a rose to Kristen, his only one-on-one date this episode. Yet after her goofy orange peel cut into a set of teeth trick ... well, lets just say it wasn't something to smart to try on a first date?

He also had two group dates (one on a double decker bus through Paris, and another to the top of the Arc De Trioumphe) and gave roses out to one lady in each group, Tara (a little too spacey for me) and Jehan (seems a little bit more with it then Tara).

However, these two then proceeded to purposefully interfere with another one of the private moments he was having with Susan just before the rose ceremony! Could he be permited to take roses away after that move?

With him now being down to 8 choices remaining, Susan and Sarah S seem to be the best two alternatives at the moment, but only more episodes will tell for sure.

And so far, no dancing dates. :(

Hey, TE, I got one, and she is one intelligent babe! :D

And it's been over ten months now. :raisebro:

And she dances!

:bouncy:

the red haired girl tara was stunning in this dress that exactly matched the colour of her hair!

I actually liked the Susan's and Jehan's red dresses better.

On the first show I tend to give them a ranking of + , neutral, or -, sort of like a ranking of 1 to 3, regarding my first impressions. I had 8 +, 9 neutral, and 9 -, with Travis having to pick 12 of 25. After 2 shows only 2 of my pluses remain, 4 of my neutrals, and 2 of my minuses. Although, two of my neutrals have since been upgraded to pluses, one downgraded two a minus, and one plus to a neutral.

The plus ... Sara S. (smart and level headed)

The upgrades to a plus ... Moana and Susan (sharp and perhaps more mature then I first felt.)

The downgrade to a neutral ... Jehan. (She dropped when she joined Tara with her last stunt.)

The neutral ... Shiloh. (still not enough to go on with her.)

The downgrade to a minus ... Sarah B. (She pushed him on a kiss, big mistake.)

The minuses ... Jennifer and Tara. (Both seem a bit flighty for me.)

I think the idea of the 'Bachelor' and 'Bachelorette' is so superficial. Do they stay together after the show is over?

I must admit I used to be an addict to 'Survivor' and sometimes I watch the 'Amazing Race'. These I find fun.

And get this ... we're watching it together ... after all it's just entertainment.

Oh, and by the way, if I recall correctly none of the guys have gotten it correctly yet, but both of the bachelorettes are still seeing their guy, and one of them even got married to their guy. Then again, there is always google that might be able to verify this, yet this morning I just don't have time to go searching.

was that the millionaire from the Bridgestone family? will have to check THAT out.
Nope. The bachelorette that got married, Trista, her pick was a fire fighter from Colorado named Ryan. They are still together. ;)

i felt very sorry for the oncologist whose inappropriate choce of words scared the man away, she was so devastated by the rejection.
but it's true what she says about men preferring the young ditzy females to the strong professional women, especially those who have chosen challenging male-dominated professions. I'm not her age yet but I've seen the same issues too :( sometimes I'm reluctant to tell men what I do for a living, it intimidates a lot of them (which is okay sometimes ;) )

Usually the men who get intimidated are not interesting enough. And you can't help being who you are, can you?

*giggle* I'll have to keep this in mind, the next time I scare someone away.

I agree with both of you, though. Some men are scared by powerful women. And I learned pretty early in my dating career (although not early enough) that there's no way to un-scare a guy who's intimidated by you. He'll just hold onto the idea that you're too successful (or whatever) for him to keep up. Duh! It's not a competition.

I've never seen even one episode of the show. I'm not a reality TV fan. But I have seen lots of entertainment magazine and gossip column headlines about these folks. Hmm. Lots of sizzle. That's for sure. Not sure how stable a foundation these couples can build with millions of people watching.

But what the heck. I'm all for romance, even the reality TV version.
