If I were to summarize for myself the last few pages, I'd come up with something like this. At some point in the past, foxtrot and tango origins converge. We're not sure when and maybe not where. At some point after that, foxtrot began to evolve in one direction and tango in another. At some point after that Tango Argentino and "ballroom" tango split off again. All along the way, all three dances were influenced by other dances and traditions. Somewhere in there, people wrote stuff down, but not everybody likes what got written down.:lol:
A brief history of Dance and Dance Discussion Forums:
At some point in time, people began dancing. Eventually they danced together... or maybe they did that first and then danced solo. Historians disagree on that. Someone noticed that not everyone danced the same. Someone came up with a term to distinguish people who moved well from those who were actually having seizures. Eventually they called it "dancing" but that was much later after English was invented. Prior to that they called it something else.
Later it was observed that there were commonalities in the way people moved when certain sticks were hit together, vs stones. That was the beginning of arguing over styles. Those who disagreed on the way to move had the sticks and stones thrown at them.
Eventually people decided that blood was a hazard on the dance floor so they took their arguments to the cave walls, which was more civilized. But it was hard to edit an entry, so the internet was invented.
Voila... here we are.
