My teacher disagrees with me and says it doesnt really have a rumba beat, but my partner and I like to practice to it

Admitted fineshrine, all of these are qualitative good music. But dance style and music style should match.

Years and years - Sanctify - Rumba

Rumba relates to bolero (tresillo-rhythm) or to són (clave-rhythm). Sanctify got nothing of these, its simply well made cross-over electropop. You are not deep into dancing, are you?

Samba is 2/4 per definition, this 4/4. Better dance R&B and hip-hop to this song, but never ever samba.
