Cheap Costumes that actually look good?!

Well Vince not always

I drive a Scion its cheap ( about 13k) turns heads as all the trimmings ( pioneer stereo ABS airconditioning) feels like a more expensive car and has a great safety record and the 2nd most reliable car according to Consumer Report ( it lost out to a lexus as it should) So the moral if something is well designed and made by a reliable manufacturer ( in this case Toyota) the cheap does not always = crap
Yes it does . . . tell me the same thing in 2 years . . .

My friends one always does.
I'd rather have your friend's troubled MB than a Korean built auto. When the Koreans automakers (and some American companies) build a vehicle as well as the Japanese and Germans . . . well, maybe then I'll look at one.

Good luck with the Scion . . .

PS. tasche . . . I'm pulling your chain a little . . .

Hey I know. I have faith in my car its really just a spiffy looking toyota echo which has a proven track records. Sides I got tricked at the dealership into buying a 6 year extended warantee ( they told me it was only costing me $11 extra a month but they'd already calculated the cost into my month payment already) Evil sales ppl

Hey . . . I'd buy it too . . . even if I were buying "a great MB" (I could've written KIA).

I believe that we should on any major purchase - cars, large screen televisions, computers, home entertainment systems, etc.

I would have bought it anways I'm just pissy at the way it was sold to me. They made it seem like a better value than it was by already including most of the cost into the quoted monthly payments before sending me into the finance offer to be sold a variety of things .

Incidently did you see on the news the Kia sedona is like one of the first cars in a long time to get a skull and cross bones safety rating ( or whatever they call it)

Don't feel bad, I did it too!

Bought a new Chevy last January, and they (the dealership) also just figured in the extended warranty . . . "pissed" is mild to what I said!!!!

Yup. I heard that. Bad news for Kia. :?

My mom's had her Kia Rio for about 2 or 3 years, and puts about 25k miles on it per year. NO problems so far. I just bought a Kia Sportage...we've only had it for a couple of weeks, but I really like it so far! Previously we had a Mitsubishi Mirage...after 125,000 miles, we'd had it in the garage exactly once. Great, reliable car.

Well they give that 10 year warantee now don't they? That should take care of you. Me I never seem to keep a car long enough to ahve it break down but hubbie managed to crack the block in his 3 yo dodge a couple of years ago bc the shop couldn't get it fixed properly. Now thats a problem

[Perhaps someone could buy a kia and cover it with korean rhinestones LOL]

that one was gooooood lol[/quote]

Just stumbled on this - Simplicity pattern 4744. If they didn't have ballroom in mind when they created this, I don't know what they were thinking!

They were definitely thinking dance. One of the models looks like she's even wearing dance shoes. (I just searched the simplicity.com site by design number -- pretty easy. 8) )

Is this the pattern we are talking about?

If so its a knit bodice so thats a plus though I would still go for a couple of sizes smaller as simplicity patterns seem to be tent sized

Yep. Those are dance shoes -- the style name is on the tip of my tongue.  And I thought I was the only one who found simplicity patterns to be ... ample.

This seems to be one of those patterns that you can mix and match the parts to design your own which is great for those who dont like to alter

For those who do I would alter the waistseam to be a v or a rounded shape. A line straight across invites one eye to measure said part. Oh and I'd take the bottom half of a leotard pattern and sew that in when I'm attaching the bodice and skirt together
