Chicago Harvest Moon - anyone going?

I know Chicago's Harvest Moon competition is small, but I was wondering if any DF'ers are attending.

(and fascination - I know I'm going to see you there! )

Alain Doucet , Jean Marc Genereux and France Mousseau are performing for the pro show - I don't believe I've seen them before - any thoughts?

They are wonderful to watch, especially the 4 of them together. You won't be disappointed!

Just noticed you didn't inlcude Anik. Is she joining them? If not, make my "4" a "3!"

Even though its close, we're skipping this one. It's just too expensive to do syllabus amateur events at pro-am competitions. Especially when I can go to Purdue's collegiate/amateur competition two weeks later for less than $50. I feel bad not supporting Harvest Moon since its a local competition, but we're honestly better off spending our money on lessons.

I can understand the money situation. Quick question - you mentioned Purdue's collegiate/amateur comp - does that mean plain amateurs (non-college students) can attend?

If I ever get another amateur partner, I'd like to attend more amateur heavy events.

Yes, anyone can attend Purdue's collegiate comp. You don't have to be a student. You just pay the non-student registration fee instead.

Yep, colleges are happy to take anyone's money. :) The only caveat is that there rarely are age divisions. So, there is no separation b/n collegiate and adult events. I tend to think this is a good thing, though, so that there are more people in each heat and fewer uncontested events.

I believe Jean Marc Genereux has a reputation for being hilarious ... not sure what kind of show it is, but he'll probably be entertaining ... :D
