I'm not sure I understand what you mean by that. Is it in reference to the video? sorry, once again, not a native speakerTry to dance slower e.g. 1/2 speed

A kind of.
By dancing slower you should improve your technique.
Cause all mistake will appear i.e. you will lose balance.
By dancing slower you will dance more (you should feel more yours and and your partner's body).
By dancing fast and sharp I cannot feel partner's and mine movements as well as I am dancing slower.
It would be no surprise if you ran into slower tanda on milonga.
So dancing slow and tender will give your partner extra feeling.

Hi tangogo-dancer! But that is the challenge. It´s so interesting to discuss about tango in a different language, in a language that I had to learn many years ago at school. So, your profile is rather bare: May I ask where you actually live and how you got to dance tango?

I really wanted to be a smart knat, but I failed.
With every partner I learn sth, so I am always beginner.
BTW about that video that you do not like very much.
That stage give sth special cause I don't usually see them performing in theatre only during some shows.
I notice that you do not like slower tangos, I just wanted to share my experience from some milongas that I attended.

I'm from Paris, France. I'll be lurking at the Copenhagen tango festival in 2 weeks, in case someone is there too and wants to share an outrageously expensive Carlsberg with me (an outrageously expensive Kronembourg in Paris would work too).
I didn't mean to start dancing tango, actually. I was looking for a place to learn salsa, somebody recommended me one. Unfortunately (or should I say fortunately?) it was tango (this gives you an idea how subtle we French can be when it comes to dancing. We would probably confound hip-hop and waltz). I liked it and sticked to it.
I guess you could say tango is pretty big here, even though there aren't that many very good dancers any more. Back when I started, dancers like Chicho, Sebastian, Mariana, Damian, Celine and, to a certain extent, Pablo Veron, were dancing very regularly, and they definitely gave a "nuevo" color to tango in Paris (maybe that's why I'm more attracted to dynamic tangos, even though I do appreciate slower tangos - I'll have to find an example of what I mean, Mladenac). I didn't have the pleasure to dance with any of them, but I did step on Pablo's foot once, and Chicho once bumped into my partner, so I guess that's still something
Anyways, they all left when the government wouldn't renew their passport (or something).OK, that was a long post, I'll stop the off-topicness!!

Hi tangogo-dancer, I believe that tango biography is the only real topic in tango, at all. Its connected with all the other topics, as posture, axis, music, interpretation, socializing, travelling, even shoes ...... I posted my moments of awakening here, too, but I cannot find them anymore.
And, sorry about Copenhagen, I will be in Prague, Tango Alchemie. I was told by a friend, that in Copenhagen pure dancing is standing in the middle, nothing else. And the teachers are great! So enjoy it, and let´s have a virtual cheers with an Pilsen Urquell

I believe you tangogo-dancer; unfortunately we receive so much spam that some basic filters had to be put in place, especially as this site is entirely volunteer run (meaning the staff just doesn't have the time to personally monitor all new logins and postings in real time).
As far as any problems you still may be having, its probably because the filters are "reading" quotes as links (since they technically do link to DF content), so if you just reference the post without using the quote button that should help. Likewise, if you post the url to any sites/clips but without including the www. first, it should work OK.
Hope that helps, and welcome to DF if I haven't said so yet. :cheers:

Christophe and Judith are everything but stage dancers. They do demos because it's part of the job but I'm not sure that they like this part. I remember seeing them years ago in a demo and they were very nervous. Their style is sophisticated but not fancy-stage, you will not see jumps, nor things with a hat and a knife.
They're thinkers, their classes are demanding, I saw many pupils leave (I remained the full four-year cycle!), their tango keeps changing, and in this respect I would not say that their technique is clean/flawless because it can never be so when you're constantly exploring and researching. Friends of Janis are more likely to have a clean technique, as they've been polishing their same three or four sequences for tens of years.
